Yoga Sticky Mats

There are lots of yoga sticky mats out there, but how do you choose the right one? No matter what kind you are considering, there are lots of ways to pick the best from the bunch.

A great mat will help your balance, strength, and stability while a poor mat will actually work against you. In order to choose a great one, consider the following things: weight, wear and tear, slip resistance, grip, warranty, durability. You don’t want a mat that will stick to your feet, slip on the floor, crumble into a million pieces, or lose its grip while you are in the middle of a pose. Instead, yoga sticky mats should be durable, slip resistant, and perfect for poses all around.

When you think that you have found a good one, try this test: pinch the mat between your fingers to see how resistant it is. If possible, try to wet your hand and see how the mat will stick to your wet palm as you move your hand across the mat. Another great test is to rub the mat surface with a dime in order to see how the material lasts. If you can scrape the mat numerous times without any pieces breaking off from it, this might be a good mat. As you can see, there are lots of ways to choose a great mat, so why would you opt for a cheap one?

Speaking of price, most yoga sticky mats should run from $15 to $35. There are some that are more expensive than $35, but these are not usually worth the extra price. When it comes down to it, any mat that passes the tests listed above is a mat worth using. Of course, you will have to enjoy the color of the mat too, which is important if you want a bit of color inspiration every time you begin your poses. If you do find one that passes all the tests, but is a bit more expensive, consider purchasing it anyway. In this case, it is better to purchase a mat that will last a long time than purchase a new one every month.

It might seem as though all mats are the same, but when you start to go through the tests listed above you will find out that they are all drastically different. Choose one that you will be happy with for a long time to come.

Spend some time going over all the yoga sticky mats out there. Within days you will find the one that really holds up to all of those tough tests.
